The Weitzman is honored to host the publication-day launch of debut author Rebekah Lowin’s first book, A Year of Jewish Joy, with a special conversation. As the opening event of our new season, this evening also launches The Weitzman’s year long exploration of Jewish Joy, a theme that will inspire programs throughout the year.

More than a cookbook, A Year of Jewish Joy brings together 75 kosher recipes, entertaining ideas, crafts, and personal essays into a modern celebration of Jewish life. At its heart is a simple yet powerful message: joy is not the absence of hardship; it is an act of resilience. 

As we prepare for Rosh Hashanah, this gathering offers an opportunity to reflect, connect, and set intentions for the year ahead. Lowin will share the inspiration behind her book, her approach to creating meaningful Jewish experiences through food and hospitality, and why joy remains such an essential Jewish value. 

Ticket holders are invited to arrive early and explore The First Salute and Colors of Creation before the program begins. Each ticket also includes a pre-signed copy of A Year of Jewish Joy. Following the conversation, guests are invited to enjoy bites inspired by the book and a meet-and-greet with the author.
