About the Honorees

The Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History is proud to honor Jane and Stuart Weitzman with the Only in America® Award.
Jane and Stuart Weitzman are profoundly deserving recipients of this award.
Jane helped build an iconic global brand, but her leadership has always extended far beyond business. Through her philanthropy, her support for cancer research and awareness, and her deep commitment to Jewish life and cultural institutions, Jane has shown what it means to use success in service of others.
Stuart’s story is a remarkable American story. His lifelong passion for design became a world-renowned company defined by creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and excellence. His transformational gift to the museum that now bears their family name has enabled our journey to reimagine our role as the nation’s Jewish museum, to explore our capacity to creatively and engagingly connect with our audience, and to expand our vision beyond the walls of our physical space.
Together, Jane and Stuart personify the Only in America® Award. They have built, led, mentored, supported, and given back. They remind us that legacy is not measured only by achievement, but by generosity, responsibility, and commitment to something larger than oneself.
