Bridging Black and Jewish Communities: Conversation with Pastor Carl Day and Yermiyahu Danzig

6 pm Check In | 7 pm Program Start | 8:30 pm Program End

Advance registration is required by Wednesday, February 11.

Live at The Weitzman

Educator and facilitator Yirmiyahu Danzig and faith leader Pastor Carl Day for a fireside chat moderated by Jason Holtzman, co-founder of the New Golden Age Coalition and chief of the Jewish Community Relations Council.

The conversation will examine the historic relationship between Black and Jewish communities, including moments of strong alliance as well as the tensions and challenges that have strained those ties over time. Speakers will explore the leadership, trust-building, and bridge-building work required to repair relationships and strengthen partnerships in the current moment.

Drawing on Danzig’s experience facilitating dialogue and grappling with complexity in Israel and Pastor Day’s faith-based leadership and community work in Philadelphia, the program will address empathy, identity, and the responsibilities of leadership in times of uncertainty. The discussion reflects the mission of the New Golden Age Coalition, co-founded by Day and Holtzman, which is dedicated to renewing Black–Jewish relationships through sustained dialogue, honesty and shared action.

Participants can expect a thoughtful, candid discussion focused on honoring history while looking ahead to the work needed to rebuild and sustain this vital alliance.

Co-produced by The Weitzman, the JCRC, and OpenDor Media.
