Support The Weitzman
An Essential Voice
We share stories. We foster dialogue. We open minds.
The Weitzman is the preeminent national museum dedicated to sharing Jewish stories that shaped our nation. We guide people of all backgrounds, religions, and belief systems to relate their own experience to that of generations of Jewish people who sought refuge and opportunity in America. The Weitzman is a rich tapestry of stories, told through documents, art, and objects, woven over five centuries. We explore and celebrate Jewish lives and their central role in making America what it is today.
When visitors engage with The Weitzman’s exhibitions, whether in person at Independence Mall, online, or in the classroom, they understand that the Jewish experience embodies American ideals: liberty, opportunity, equality. As we continue to tell Jewish American stories here, and do more to push them beyond our walls, we break down the fears and misperceptions that give rise to antisemitism.
Jewish stories are layered, vibrant, complex, and colorful—and quintessentially American. Now, more than ever, our fellow citizens need to hear these stories and feel connected to Jewish Americans who are part of this nation’s fabric.
