The Weitzman Has a Week of Music, Scavenger Hunts, and Hands-On Activities Planned with Free Admission for All
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (June 17, 2025) – Over July 4 week, the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History is gearing up for a vibrant week of celebration in the heart of historic Philadelphia with three days of family fun. Admission is always free.
These engaging events foster unity and understanding through shared stories and celebration. The Museum welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds to explore, connect, and experience the American Jewish journey together.
This summer, The Weitzman is launching its new Dish & Tell Culinary Scavenger Hunt, where museumgoers can search the galleries for objects spotlighting Jewish holiday meals to win prizes! In July, the Grand Prize is a signed Zahav Home cookbook and a gift certificate to Jaffa Bar – part of Mike Solomonov and Steve Cook’s CookNSolo, which includes Lilah at The Weitzman.

Friday, June 27 | Wawa Welcome America Free Museum Day
Steps from the Liberty Bell, visitors of all ages can explore vibrant, hands-on exhibits that bring 360 years of American Jewish history to life. Explore the Museum from the sleepaway camp gallery to a family holiday table; every corner invites discovery, connection, and fun. Join us for an unforgettable day exploring #OurSharedHeritage in the heart of historic Philadelphia! 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday, July 2 | “Red, White, & Blue To-Do” Pomp & Parade
The Weitzman joins the Red, White, & Blue To-Do for a day of patriotic celebration and community spirit in America’s most historic square mile. With festive decor, music, and activities, the museum invites visitors to experience history through a uniquely Jewish-American lens.
Friday, July 4 | 4th of July Family Day
Celebrate the 4th at The Weitzman with a fun-filled Family Day! Enjoy performances, hands-on activities, and more from 12–4 p.m., with the museum open 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Admission is always free! Philly’s official 4th of July parade steps off at 5th & Chestnut Streets at 11 a.m.
The Museum & Store is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, June 26 to Sunday, July 6.
