Philadelphia is home to dynamic Jewish musicians and a diverse Jewish community.

While individual organizations and synagogues might hire an artist for a one-off Shabbat service or weekend residency, there are few opportunities for the Jewish community to come together to appreciate and celebrate the broad range of genres and styles that are represented by Jewish performing artists.

Philly Jewish Music Festival seeks to fill that gap, providing a venue for the Philadelphia Jewish and non-Jewish community to come together to experience and celebrate the breadth and depth of music made by Jews.

Many Genres. One Community.

Festival artists span many genres, showcasing the wide contributions that Jewish performers make to the music landscape of Philly and beyond.  Explore this year’s festival performers below.

What is PJMF?

PJMF is a day-long festival with multiple stages featuring:

  • Local, regional and national Jewish performing artists from a broad range of musical genres and styles
  • An evening performance by a well-known headline performer
  • Children’s programming featuring music from local Jewish children’s musicians and age-appropriate activities

Who PJMF Serves

While the primary market for the Festival is Philadelphia’s Jewish community, PJMF will engage the broader Philadelphia community through a high-profile headlining artist and a focus on local artists and partner organizations. The Festival also provides an opportunity for local Jewish artists to raise their profile in the community and support their work through ancillary sales (CDs, download cards, and swag) as well as a performance fee.
