After the talk, savor a curated selection of cakes from the book, lovingly baked by some of Philadelphia’s most exciting woman-owned bakeries – DreamWorld Bakes, fiore, and Feels Like Sunday. Mingle, munch, and meet the culinary icon herself during a festive signing reception that’s equal parts cake party and community celebration.

Dorie Greenspan is a five-time James Beard Award-winning author, New York Times bestselling writer, and beloved baking authority known for infusing her recipes with equal parts precision, creativity, and heart. With fifteen acclaimed cookbooks to her name—including Baking with DorieDorie’s CookiesAround My French Table, Baking from My Home to Yours and the newly anticipated Dorie’s Anytime Cakes—Dorie has built a career out of transforming simple, everyday ingredients into magical moments. Her career path has been anything but traditional: she left her doctorate in gerontology to bake cookies in a restaurant basement (a job she was promptly fired from), wrote columns for The New York Times Magazine and The Washington Post, and became a culinary icon who has collaborated with legends like Julia Child and Pierre Hermé. She’s been inducted into the James Beard Foundation’s Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America and awarded France’s prestigious Mérite d’Agricole for her contributions to French culinary culture. Known for her relatable voice, foolproof recipes, and a baking style that encourages whimsy and joy, Dorie shares her adventures through her Substack newsletter, xoxoDorie. She splits her time between New York City, Westbrook, Connecticut, and Paris, always in search of the next great cake—or bite. Website | Instagram

Noelle Blizzard opened New June in 2021 during the height of the pandemic, when her passion for “baking-as-pandemic-therapy” turned into an ambition to combine a love for seasonal desserts and pastries into whimsical, nearly too-beautiful-to-eat cakes. Noelle has enjoyed a decades-long career in marketing and studied creative writing at Saint Joseph’s University, but when it comes to baking she is fully self-taught, and a ferocious consumer of baking cookbooks and online tutorials. When not baking, Noelle is the mom of two little cake-loving girls, Piper and Margaux. She lives in the Fairmount neighborhood of Philadelphia with her husband David. Website | Instagram

fiore “In a city filled to the brim with excellent Italian fare, Fiore, co-owned by chefs Ed Crochet and Justine MacNeil,  has carved out its own niche. The modern Italian cafe serves some of Philly’s most beautiful (and technically perfect) pastries, pastas, and gelati. Go for a chocolate cream-filled bomboloni and a shakerato at breakfast, or a chicken parm on rustic bread at lunch. And go back for dinner, order all the house-made pastas, and BYO bottle of Trebbiano to feel fully transported to the Eternal City.” – Philadelphia Magazine Website | Instagram

Feels Like Sunday is a microbakery that embraces slow days and collective rest. Siobhan has been working as a pastry chef & baker for well over a decade now, and for the past 3+ years, has been growing & raising two tiny humans while testing/tasting the recipes that they like to eat and share with their family, and now Siobhan would love to finally share them with you! Feels Like Sunday was born out of memories she had of eating breakfast at her grandparents’ house on Sundays when Siobhan and her siblings were young. They usually had a spread of simple brunch-y things to eat, but there was always a store-bought coffee cake (if you know, you know) sitting in the middle of the table that her grandfather would chip away at the whole meal. To little old Siobhan, it felt magical the way time seemed to slow down while they chatted and snacked with nowhere to be. Her hope is to be able to give you something tasty and thoughtful to put in the middle of your tables to share with the people in your lives, because Sunday is so much more than a day on a calendar, Sunday is a feeling.
