Support the Museum through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program which allows individuals and businesses to redirect their state tax dollars to the educational charity of their choice.
By participating in this program, donors receive a tax credit of 90% of their donation amount, and these dollars support programs and initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of children living in Pennsylvania.
As an accredited Educational Enrichment Organization (EIO), every dollar The Weitzman raises through this program offers students from low-income schools in our region creative educational programs that bolster civic engagement, help students become “history detectives” and make connections between the stories they learn and their own lives.

Stories That Shaped a Nation: Jewish People in America
Grades 6-12; In-person and Online
A new, ambitious, and innovative educational prototype that will will familiarize, demystify, and educate public school students about Jewish history, values, religion, and cultures to serve as an antidote to antisemitism.
Citizen Power Unpacked
Grades 11-12; In person
Participate in a new arts and civics workshop intensive and utilize the PBS multi-platform storytelling and engagement campaign, American Creed “Citizen Power,” to enable students to explore the intersection between American ideals and democratic values, art and photography, and community change. Students will ask and answer big questions about American democracy and utilize high-quality documentary works and related curricula to identify their perspectives and strategies to bring people together, build democracy from the ground up, and realize their visions of America’s promise.
Becoming American: Jewish Immigration in the Early 20th Century
Grades 3-7; In person
In this two-pronged program, students will investigate replicas of objects from our collection in your classroom, unraveling the tale of Jewish immigration. They then come to the museum for guided experiences with ahistorical interpreter.
Courageous Choices
Grades 6-12; In person
See acclaimed actor Khalil Munir in his one-person show “1 Pound, 4 Ounces.” Following the show, students tour the museum galleries, focusing on advocacy, allyship, and activism themes.
Unique Promise, Imperfect Freedom
Grades 9-12; In person
High school students delve into the promises and shortcomings of our nation, catalyzing discussions about American history, justice, and progress.
