As you consider your annual charitable giving, we want to be sure you are aware of the tax benefits that come with making a charitable gift with your IRA funds.
Individuals 70½ or older can contribute up to $100,000 per year in Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs). For married couples, each spouse can make QCDs up to the $100,000 limit for a potential total of $200,000. The $100,000 per person limit applies to the sum of all QCDs taken from all IRAs in a year. These donations are tax free, and for those who are at least 72, QCDs count toward the IRA owner’s required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.
Please consult your tax advisor and IRA administrator about taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity to support The Weitzman.
